Why Google Books is Awesome

Google Books is absolutely amazing. I've used it before, but today I've realized just how awesome it actually is. While working on my research on early American treasure-seeking, I had noticed some time ago that many of the first-hand sources referenced by scholars like Alan Taylor and D. Michael Quinn were nineteenth century town histories. Little did I know that Google Books has hundreds of New England and New York town histories from the 1800s that I can do key word searches in, something that has never been available to scholars in any published work on treasure-seeking. I've found several references that, as far as I can tell, haven't been found (or, at least, haven't been cited) previously by scholars studying the subject. Just an awesome resource.
